NEW MEXICO TECH DATA CENTER
The Data Center is ready and running for the new semester for New Mexico Tech. Faculty, students and staff will benefit from the security and knowledge that data locally situated.
UNM SMITH PLAZA: CAMPUS OASIS IN A DESERT SOON TO EMERGE
Albuquerque, NM. UNM Student Affairs website is very informative of the goals and use of Smith Plaza. The project is wIll on its way. The community of UNM will soon be able to circulate through Smith Plaza. Some elements are being built off-site and brought onto campus. The Plateaus, the Lobo Landing and the Lantern Shades are coming together to create an inviting plaza for outdoor unwinding.
DEL NORTE DRAGONS TO GET NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN ROSWELL
Roswell, NM. The plans and planning are coming together to a very refreshed Del Norte Elementary School. The school boasts new circulation, new entry, a new identity. McCLAIN+YU with SMPC are meeting with the community and excited to facilitate the opportunity to bring this new school and campus layout to Roswell. Stay tuned!

ROSWELL HIGH SCHOOL TO EXPAND THEIR ATHLETIC FIELD CAMPUS
Roswell, NM. FIGHTING COYOTES can soon boast of expansive athletic fields campus at Roswell High School. This will be an epicenter for football, soccer, tennis, baseball, field and track, band, festival events. New accessible routes, parking and circulation will be implemented to facilitate concurrent events. Get ready for Friday Night Lights!
McCLAIN+YU VISITS CONSTRUCTION SITES WITH STUDENTS AND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
In an effort to help build knowledge across Albuquerque's professional groups, McClain+Yu supports and are excited to take students and others on visit of our construction sites. Smith Plaza on the campus of the UNM is taking shape and the brick paver work is beautiful. In the works of Louis Kahn, "You say to a brick, 'What do you want, brick?' And brick says to you, 'I like an arch.' And you say to brick, 'Look, I want one, too, but arches are expensive and I can use a concrete lintel.' And then you say: 'What do you think of that, brick?' Brick says: 'I like an arch.'"
Even the humble brick expresses an ability to be extraordinary. The brick paver work in Smith Plaza is an occasion to celebrate the BRICK!
ENMU NATATORIUM IS FULL WITH ACTIVITIES!
The University pool is a critical addition to campus living and the community at large. We are excited for Portales to be able to re-utilize the campus pool in its full capacity! Hope to take a dip the next time we are down there!

NEW MEXICO TECH BREAKS GROUND ON NEW DATA CENTER!
Socorro, New Mexico. The New Data Center is a state of the art facility to meet the demands of student driven needs for big data usage during the class day schedules, faculty necessities for securitizing research data, and the daily use of the NMTech community on a daily basis. We are excited to be part of this new addition to a campus with strong architectural and planning traditions!

UNM SMITH PLAZA PROGRESS
Since January, the design team for the University of New Mexico's Smith Plaza Renovation, collaboration between McClain + Yu, MRWM, and SurfaceDesign, has been hard at work gathering input from the university community for this re-imagined "living room" of campus. This input informed the team's initial design, and we were excited to recently present the team's work to the community over three days and gather feedback. The responses have been outstanding and the team is looking forward to progressing the design.

ENMU NATATORIUM RENOVATION
McClain + Yu designed the renovation – including a complete overhaul of the locker room facilities for improved circulation, finishes, lighting, and accessibility. Careful attention was given to a faithful restoration of the original pool mosaic tile signage. Additionally, the locker room, pool deck and edge are being refinished. The Facility is scheduled to re-open in May 2017.
UNM CORONADO HALL RENOVATION
McClain + Yu designed the renovation for the 252 bed dormitory constructed in 1958. The design modernizes dorm rooms, shower and toilet rooms, and provides improvements to common space. Additionally, the renovation plan includes improvements to universal accessibility. Construction is planned for Summer 2017 with student initial move-in scheduled for the Fall 2017 semester. Currently Phase 2 is being planned.
NMT NEW DATA CENTER
Construction is about to begin on New Mexico Tech's new Data Center. McClain + Yu developed a plan focused on creating a flexible facility capable of change and modular growth to accommodate future needs.
CLOVIS HIGH SCHOOL RESTROOM ADDITION
To meet the growing needs of Clovis High School, McClain + Yu has designed an addition to "the Rock" gymnasium.

New Mexicans are able to vote on General Obligation bonds every two years. In 2016, G.O. Bond Issue C will provide funding to improve and renovate aging and required building infrastructure for higher education institutions around the state. These brick and mortar projects are fundamental to creating the academic environment necessary for New Mexico’s colleges, universities and specialty schools to build the strengths of our NM students. Vote YES to Bond C.
